Mysterious Warner Bros. film crew in El Paso: What are they shooting?
Sightings of a mysterious Warner Bros. truck roaming El Paso streets are leading many to wonder if a film is being shot in the Sun City.
A nonprofit group, Habitat for Humanity Re-store, may have an answer after a set decoration buyer and his wife visited the small business, said Nancy Gomez, its general manager.
“They bought ceiling fans, a glass trophy cabinet, a vintage box and a stove,” she said. “They also bought a bunch of hardware.”
The first visit to the Northeast discount store happened in early May, with many other purchases in recent weeks. At first, Gomez didn’t think much of the customers, but when it came time to check out, she was handed a business card and asked if the items could be picked up in a week or two.
The card belonged to Sam Tell, a set decorator who’s worked on films like “Captain Marvel,” “Ant-Man” and “Captain America,” according to IMDB.
“What they told me is most of the movie had been filmed out in California,” she said. “There was going to be some on-location filming in El Paso. They are trying to get everything set up; that’s all I know.”
While Tell did not disclose when the film would be shot in El Paso, his simple, black-and-white business card did display the name “BC Project.”
The “BC Project,” according to IMDB, includes a star-studded lineup with names like Leonardo DiCaprio, Benicio del Toro, and Sean Penn.
The project’s director and writer, Paul Thomas Anderson, is known for films like “Punch-Drunk Love,” “There Will Be Blood,” and “Boogie Nights.”
The “BC Project” remains untitled, and its plot is under wraps, according to IMDB.
El Paso Times contacted Tell and the city officials for more information on the film’s production but received no response.

She’s also thankful the crew found the store, which helps build homes for low-income El Pasoans.
“We’re a small, struggling nonprofit and every sale is really important to us,” Gomez said. “We are going to have to keep an eye out for what they bought, maybe have a watch party."
Is Leonardo DiCaprio in El Paso?
Social media posts show Leonardo DiCaprio in Downtown El Paso. The post mentions the filming took place this week. Benicio del Toro was also seen eating at Cafe Central, located in Downtown El Paso.
