‘Narcos’ Mobile Game to Let Users Become Pablo Escobar

The popular Netflix series Narcos is being turned into a game called Narcos: Cartel Wars. And just as the show tracks drug lord Pablo Escobar’s rise to power, the game lets users build their own crime syndicate.

Narcos: Cartel Wars is being developed by FTX Games, whose previous work includes a game based on the Hot Tub Time Machine movie called Tap That. Aaron Berndtson, head of business development at FTX Games, told Variety that the Narcos app will “explore the moral ambiguity from the show.” Although if you’re looking for moral ambiguity in a mobile game, why not try Pokémon Go — a game in which you imprison small creatures in tiny balls and make them fight each other until they “faint.”

Narcos: Cartel Wars will be released around the same time as Season 2 of Narcos, which premieres Sept. 2. Meaning that you can watch Pablo as you play as Pablo, wearing, if you so choose, that dumb Kanye West Pablo shirt.
