Nasaan, Proof’s Son, Talks Cordae Diss And Jealousy Over Eminem Bond
Nasaan, Proof’s son, has finally addressed dissing Cordae over the years—and he’s apologizing for his actions.
On Friday (Oct. 4), the emcee took to social media to “rant” about the situation. The Detroiter explained that his disses over the past three years were out of “jealousy” over the 27-year-old’s relationship with Eminem, insisting that he wanted the “uncle” treatment that Cordae got.
The animosity began when Nasaan was 19, but the rapper, who is 26 now, admitted that it was childish and he sees things differently.
“I Apologize to the Cordae fellow,” he typed on X/Twitter. “I’m growing & realize I started trolling you out of envy. I was gonna put all this in a song, but rhyming sh*t with yo name is difficult, ni**a. He was getting the love from [Eminem] that I had always wanted but unfortunately just never got. I felt like I was a way more talented rapper sitting in front of his face, yet he chose him to champion. (granted I was 19) but I never quite understood it. I’m older & more mature now, so I internalize all this a lot differently now.”
Nasaan released a slew of disses aimed at Cordae over the years, with tracks achieving some viral success.
And to Nasaan’s point, the Bird’s Eye View artist has received quite the support from Em throughout his young career. The Detroit legend has collaborated with Cordae on a number of tracks such as “Parables (Remix),” “Killer,” and “Doomsday.”
Despite not having a deeper relationship with Eminem, Nasaan seems to be close with other Detroit emcees. Throughout his Instagram, fans can see the rapper posing alongside rappers like Royce Da 5’9, and a litany of pictures with Big Sean. One post even shows Nasaan performing with Sean on stage, while another shows the young rapper rocking Sean Don’s Don Life chain.
Nasaan previously opened up about his friendship with the Blog Era rapper during an interview with VIBE Magazine—which you can watch below!
