Natalie Hemby to host monthly residency at Eric Church's Chief's honky-tonk

Eric Church's brand-new, six-story Lower Broadway honky-tonk Chief's continues to surge out of the gates.

Now, alongside the venue's namesake kicking off his 19-night residency at the intimate, 400-person Neon Steeple concert hall inside the space, Grammy-winning songwriter Natalie Hemby will be the next artist to grace the stage for a monthly, ticketed event. It starts June 13.

"When it comes to country music, Eric Church has continually paved his own road, and he has always been very generous about lifting others along the way," says Hemby. "I'm excited to be part of something different he's building in the heart of Nashville — a stage where artists and writers get to share their own journey."

Hemby's two solo albums, "Puxico" (2017) and "Pins & Needles" (2021), were critical successes. As well, alongside Brandi Carlile, Maren Morris and Amanda Shires, she has shined as a member of the Highwomen country supergroup.

Given that Hemby has penned songs for the likes of Kacey Musgraves, Maren Morris, Sheryl Crow, Miranda Lambert, Lady Gaga, Dierks Bentley, Yola, Lady A and Little Big Town, there's a wide array of performers whose songs — alongside her work — will be presented onstage during her events.

Hemby's monthly one-woman show residency, "The Truth About a Song," will tell the stories behind those hits and their vocalists. As a press statement notes, Hemby will "(weave) wit, humor, and storytelling into an evening of song and must-see entertainment."

Alongside Hemby, Chief's has announced an award-winning and acclaimed who's who of Nashville's past, present and future taking the stage.

Grammy-winner Lori McKenna, Grand Ole Opry Star Mandy Barnett, Texas Americana favorite Willis Allan Ramsey, country chart-topper Doug Stone, bluegrass legends Dan Tyminski and Ronnie Bowman, neo-soul duo Kindred The Family Soul, yacht rockers Al Stewart and The Empty Pockets, and more are scheduled through August.

Eric Church's Church Choir fan club also continues to be specifically catered to via the venue's bookings.

Church's band's longtime vocalist Joanana Cotten will make her Chief's debut May 16, while band guitarist and songwriter Driver Williams will continue his monthly Guitar Town Hall with special guest Jeff Hyde on June 27.
