Natalie Portman Puts Her Own Twist on Belted Dressing in Strapless Dior Look for ‘Lady in the Lake’ New York Premiere
Natalie Portman fashioned an edgy ensemble on Thursday for the New York City premiere of her forthcoming Apple TV+ limited series “Lady in the Lake.” The Oscar-winning actress was joined by costar Moses Ingram and director Alma Har’el for the red carpet event.
For the occasion, Portman opted for a look courtesy of Dior’s 2025 cruise collection. Portman fashioned an embroidered bustier dress with a black belt and velvet shorts. The bustier element of her strapless look also included a peekaboo bra element.

The structural ensemble featured delicate beading and a contemporary design, with a black belt cinching the waist of Portman’s frame. The actress paired the look with strappy black sandal heels and accessorized with minimal jewelry, forgoing a necklace and bracelet in favor of stud earrings and dainty rings.
Portman’s makeup featured classic elements and a bold smoky eye along with a soft pink lip. The actress’ hair was pulled back in a chignon, save for a few wisps of hair near her face. Portman has served as an ambassador for the luxury French fashion house for more than 10 years and is the face of the Miss Dior fragrance.
Portman’s look comes courtesy of Dior’s 2025 cruise collection, which debuted in Scotland in June. The collection of pieces was partly inspired by Clare Hunter, the textile expert and author of “Embroidering Her Truth: Mary Queen of Scots and the Language of Power.”
The final result of creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri‘s designs featured pieces with warrior and ladylike inspiration, harkening back to the Elizabethan time.
Along with a few solo photos in her Dior look, Portman was joined by costar Moses Ingram and “Lady in the Lake” director Alma Har’el.
Ingram fashioned a Cinderella-inspired white gown with large floral embellishments running down the corset of the dress in metallic gold and silver. The Harbison Studio dress featured cap sleeves, and Ingram fashioned her hair in an updo with her fringe to frame her face.
Based on the novel of the same name by Laura Lippman, “Lady in the Lake” follows an aspiring reporter (Portman) who uncovers the mystery behind the death of a young woman (Ingram). The miniseries debuts on Apple TV+ on July 19.
