Natalie Portman to star in HBO miniseries from 'Friends' creator

Natalie Portman is heading to TV for the first time ever.

The Academy Award winning actress has signed on to star in and executive produce the miniseries We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves, which is currently in development at HBO, EW has confirmed.

Portman will star as Rosemary Cooke, a college student who had a rather unusual childhood which included her “twin sister” disappearing at the age of 5.

The miniseries, an adaptation of the Karen Joy Fowler novel of the same name, is being developed by Friends co-creator Marta Kauffman (Grace and Frankie) through her production company Okay Gooodnight. It will be written by Christopher Monger (Temple Grandin), and Homeland co-creator Gideon Raff will also executive produce with Portman and Kauffman and Robbie Tollin from Okay Goodnight.

Okay Goodnight is also working on Emmis, an American adaptation of the 2013 Israeli drama Shitsel that goes inside the insular orthodox Jewish community, which it sold to Amazon.
