Nate Bargatze hosting 'SNL' again, this time with Coldplay as musical guest

Nashville-born comedian Nate Bargatze will appear on the "Saturday Night Live" stage yet again for his second gig as a host.

Bargatze will appear on the comedy show's 50th season on Oct. 5 alongside musical guest Coldplay, who will be performing on the show for their eighth time.

Bargatze, who is currently on his nationwide “The Be Funny Tour,” made his SNL hosting debut last year on Oct. 28.

Beyond Bargatze, another familiar Nashville face will perform on the premiere date of the 50th season of SNL.

Country singer Jelly Roll will be the musical guest on Sept. 28 alongside the Emmy Award-winning Jean Smart as the host.

On Oct. 12, Ariana Grande will host and Stevie Nicks will perform as the musical guest. Michael Keaton and Billie Eilish will hit the stage the next week on Oct. 19. And on Nov. 2, John Mulaney will host and Chappell Roan will perform.

Last year, Bargatze's appearance on "SNL" drew praise, especially his lauded skit "Washington's Dream" alongside Kenan Thompson, Mikey Day, Bowen Yang and another Nashvillian, James Austin Johnson.

In the skit, Bargatze rallies his downtrodden American troops to remind them that they're fighting for a new system of "weights and measures” — one that is much more confusing, but independent of the British Monarchy.
