National Peanut Festival headliner up for 2024 CMA Award

DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — The National Peanut Festival has been known to bring in rising talent, and it seems this year will be no different.

Ashley McBryde is one of five nominees for the 2024 County Music Association’s Female Vocalist of the Year.

She will play at the 80th National Peanut Festival on Thursday, November 3.

McBryde is going up against Kelsea Ballerini and Kacey Musgraves, and two names familiar to NPF goers, Lainey Wilson and Megan Moroney.

Wilson performed at the 78th National Peanut Festival in 2022 and is the current two-year defender of the Female Vocalist of the Year. Moroney performed at the 79th NPF in 2023.

The 41-year-old singer-songwriter broke into the country music scene in 2017 with her debut single, “A Little Dive Bar in Dahlonega.” A title that climbed to number 30 on Billboard’s County Airplay and Hot County and was later named one of the 54 Best Songs of 2017 by The New York Times and one of the Top 25 Best Country Songs of 2017 by Rolling Stone.

That same year, McBryde first appeared at the Grand Ole Opry and won the Academy of County Music’s “New Artist of The Year.”

The 2024 CMA Awards will broadcast live on November 20 from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on WDHN.
