NBA YoungBoy Arrested, Charged With Drug And Weapons Possession
YoungBoy Never Broke Again has been arrested for allegedly violating the terms of his conditional release while on house arrest.
According to WBRZ, the rap star was booked into police custody on Tuesday night (April 16) on charges that include procuring or attempting to procure drugs, identity fraud, forgery, possession of controlled substances, and possession of a dangerous weapon.
NBA YoungBoy’s arrest came after what the outlet described as patterns of unlawful activity, as he is barred from being in possession of drugs or firearms as a stipulation of his supervised release. The Baton Rouge, La., native has had numerous run-ins with the law since first rising to fame nearly a decade ago.
In March 2021, NBA YoungBoy was arrested in Los Angeles on outstanding warrants and transported back to his home state. He was indicted by a federal grand jury on firearm-related charges stemming from a February 2020 video shoot in which the rapper was said to be in possession of firearms.
The hitmaker was ultimately released from the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office in October 2021 after paying a $500,000 cash bond in exchange for his conditional release. He was ordered to stay within the confines of his property in Utah, which he has since dubbed “Gravedigger Mountain.”
Last year, NBA YoungBoy opened up about how house arrest has altered his mental health via a statement relayed by his attorney, who filed a motion attempting to lessen the restrictions his client has been subjected to.
“Being confined to his home and unable to complete his employment obligations has led to great anxiety, depression, loss of weight, and sleep,” the attorney detailed. “[NBA YoungBoy] has been visibly stressed and has expressed concern and loss of hope that he will be able to return to his contracted employment obligation.”
