NBC’s ‘Chicago’ stars share about all-new episodes

(NBC) — After a break of a couple of weeks, NBC’s “Chicago” series all return with new episodes Wednesday.

Some of the show’s stars shared about what’s in store.

It’s been a while since NBC’s “Chicago” dramas have had a major crossover storyline, but there’s still some crossing-over going on.

“I’ve gone to “Chicago Med” on the set a few times, and I have some pens to return,” said LaRoyce Hawkins of “Chicago PD.” “You know, they just got all the good stuff, bro. All the dope ballpoint pens.”

“Med” also has some “dope” action Wednesday with a helicopter crash.

“The experience was astonishing,” said Marlyne Barrett about the scene. “I really enjoyed it.”

Barrett’s character Maggie survives the accident but has to work to save her pilot.

“Definitely was, how can I say, elating to take care of Dr. Johnson,” said Barrett.

Meanwhile on “Chicago Fire” another day, another car blasting into the second floor of a building.

“It was one of the most spectacular incidents and special effects work I think I’ve seen on our show,” said Hanako Greensmith.

The rescue that puts Kidd and Severide front and center is not so far-fetched.

“The crazier the incident, actually, the more likely it’s happened,” said Greensmith.

And on “Chicago PD” a young girl’s appearance at the district pulls Upton into a decades-old missing persons case as Tracy Spirakados’ time on the show starts drawing to a close.

“She’s just a great joy to work with her energy is, you know, lights up the room every time,” said Hawkins.

Part of what makes “Chicago” Wednesday work.
