The evacuation and lockdown have ended.
“We received a tip about a potential law enforcement incident,” Netflix said in a statement. “Police are conducting a sweep of the lot out of an abundance of caution. There is no immediate danger or threat to our employees.”
Social media reports started to emerged on Thursday afternoon that Sunset Bronson Studios, which also houses KTLA, was on lockdown over a possible active shooter. “Netflix’s LA campus is on lockdown for a possible shooter,” wrote Jenna Marotta, Netflix’s manager of communications, film publicity, on Twitter at about 5:00 p.m. Thursday. “Helicopters overhead, police everywhere here. Roads closed. Employees were evacuated from one building to another. Just overheard one co-worker calling his grandma to allay her fears. Another scary day in America.”
Marotta later added that employees were able to leave the area on foot, but the parking garage and one building were still closed.
“Bizarre Foods” host Andrew Zimmern was also in the building at the time.
