New "Bridgerton" Photos Just Dropped, And The One Of Jonathan Bailey And Simone Ashley Dancing Is Already Living In My Head Rent-Free

Netflix has given us clamoring Bridgerton fans a crumb of what's to come. You know, as a treat to make up for the second season's painfully late March 25 release date.

Oh, how I long for the na?veté of the days before Dec. 25, 2021, when I still thought Season 2 would delight us all in January.

By this, I mean that the streamer just released the upcoming season's first-look photos! To say they are stunning, marvelous, intriguing, beguiling, etc. etc. is somehow still an understatement. Where is the preemptive production design Emmy?!

First up is this pic of Lady Portia Featherington (Polly Walker) regally walking down a staircase flanked by her entourage (aka the rest of her family, the only important one being Penelope). She walked so Ms. Fran Fine could run, IMHO.

Of all the questionable matching wardrobe decisions she's made, this rose gold look isn't half bad! It verges onto the territory of gaudy, but I'm paying more attention to her icy gaze. Who's she looking at? Why is she so stern? Or is she just like that? (Probably, but who's to say?!)

Second, we have Simone as Kate, Charithra Chandran as her sister Edwina, and what I'm assuming is their family's lovely pet corgi.

If I were to venture an educated guess (and I will, you can't stop me), this still could be from a scene where Kate and Anthony meet for the very first time. If you're a fan of Julia Quinn's novels on which the series is based, you'd know that Anthony first courts Edwina as a suitable wife. And given how disapproving — or rather nonchalant and uninterested — Kate looks, it's (possibly, hopefully) safe to say this is the birthplace of their enemies-to-lovers arc!

Once again, I ask: Where ???? is ???? the ???? Emmy?! In this third picture, we have Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel) reading a pamphlet that I could only assume comes from Lady Whistledown herself.

This picture hails from the season's second episode, so I would theorize Ms. Whistledown has already managed to wreak havoc on the town's pocket in London. That's OK, though, the queen can rest easy in her museum-worthy Regency-era mansion.

En garde! Here we have the Bridgerton bros fencing the day away. I'm sure this scene has plenty of witty banter that we, unfortunately, are not privy to as of yet.

It's time to place our bets: I think Anthony initially wins the round against Colin (Luke Newton), but then gets too overzealous and/or distracted, giving Colin the chance to pin him. I'd venture to say that Anthony's mind is already preoccupied by Kate!

It's getting serious! In this photo — the first from Episode 3 — Phoebe Dynevor returns as Daphne (now Basset, not Bridgerton)! Given the worried look on her face, she might be back in town to give her horny mess of a brother some much-needed advice.

Anthony's face, in turn, looks to be saying: "Thank you, but no thank you."

In this Episode 4 still, Kate joins Anthony, his brother Benedict, and Jack (played by series newcomer Rupert Young) on what looks to be a hunting activity. I'm almost 99.8% sure she surprises them all by being the best shot.

For all the Yellowjackets fans out there, it's giving me the same energy as Natalie showing up Travis! IYKYK!

Dear all, this photo is the cause of my untimely death. In this absolutely swoon-worthy photo, we see Kate and Anthony in their first dance. I feel like this is one of the ballroom moments that precede THAT garden conversation we saw in the teaser trailer. You can almost hear (and definitely see) Kate's breath hitch!

Either way, I'm going to cue up Fergie's "London Bridge."

And last, but certainly not least, we have a photo of Penelope (played by Nicola Coughlan, aka the unknown genius mastermind Lady Whistledown) with Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie). What could they possibly be scheming?

Will this season clue Eloise into what her bestie has been up to? Is this the confession scene? We have so many questions!

Well, that rounds out the eight new photos of the upcoming season. Netflix, give us more corgi photos, you cowards! And push up the release date if you're really about it!
