WILMINGTON, N.C. (WNCN) — An upcoming Netflix series filming in North Carolina is looking to cast paid extras.
“The Waterfront,” a story about a family and their fishing business that is inspired by true events, begins filming in Wilmington this week. The series stars Maria Bello and Holt McCallany and is written and executive produced by Kevin Williamson, who created teen drama series “Dawson’s Creek,” one of the most famous shows to ever film in Wilmington.

According to TW Cast and Recruit, they’re looking for people of all ages and ethnicities to be cast as paid extras from now until mid-to-late December. The daily rate for all roles is $96 for up to eight hours of work, with time and a half for every hour over that time period. The casting company says there will also be opportunities for roles that would have increased pay.
Those interested are asked to visit TW Cast and Recruit’s Facebook page, where all their casting calls are posted. People are also encouraged to register in the company’s talent database.
Once applicants are approved, they’ll be given filming details and official call times the afternoon before each shoot date. Call times can be as early as 5 a.m. or as late as the evening, the casting company said, with some days potentially lasting over 12 hours.
