In wake of Netflix's new September arrivals, we have to acknowledge the TV shows and movies we lost.

Paced like a dramatic telenovela, the show revolves around a woman named Jane Villanueva, played by Gina Rodriguez, who becomes a pregnant virgin when she is accidentally inseminated during a routine trip to the gynecologist’s office.

And that just kicks off the crazy plot lines. The show truly has it all — everything from romance and comedy to deadly crime and heartbreak.

Originally airing on the CW, the show ran for five seasons from 2014 to 2019. The entire show of “Jane the Virgin” is set in Miami and her love interest, Justin Baldoni's Raphael, owns a fictional hotel on the beach.

Why did Netflix take 'Jane the Virgin' off streaming?

According to What’s on Netflix reports, Netflix and The CW chose not to renew their streaming contract back in 2019. In the previous deal, the licensing terms required each show to remain exclusively on Netflix for five years after Netflix obtains the final season.

Netflix added the final season of "Jane the Virgin" in August 2019, so the five years is officially up. CW's "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" and "iZombie" also left the streaming platform last week.
