Neuromancer: Briana Middleton Joins Callum Turner in Apple TV+ Adaptation of Sci-Fi Classic
Briana Middleton, who starred alongside Julianne Moore and Sebastian Stan in the 2023 Apple TV+ film Sharper, has been tapped as the female lead in Neuromancer, the streamer’s series adaptation of William Gibson’s classic sci-fi/cyberpunk novel.
First ordered to series in February and spanning 10 episodes in its first season, Neuromancer follows Case (to be played by Masters of the Air‘s Callum Turner), a damaged, top-rung super-hacker who is thrust into a web of digital espionage and high-stakes crime with his partner Molly, a razor-girl assassin with mirrored eyes, aiming to pull a heist on a corporate dynasty with untold secrets.

Middleton will fill the role of Molly; Deadline first reported on her casting.
Gibson’s debut novel, Neuromancer has been praised as one of the first works within the cyberpunk genre and it received numerous accolades including the Nebula Award, the Philip K. Dick Award, and the Hugo Award. The 1984 novel served as the first book in Gibson’s Sprawl trilogy, and was followed by Count Zero and Mona Lisa Overdrive.
The Neuromancer TV series hails from co-creators Graham Roland (Dark Winds, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan) and J.D. Dillard (The Outsider, Two Sentence Horror Stories). Roland will serve as showrunner, while Dillard will direct the pilot episode.
In addition to Sharper, Middleton’s previous credits include the Prime Video film The Tender Bar (starring Ben Affleck and Lily Rabe), and The Inheritance, a horror thriller that co-stars Peyton List (no, the Disney one) and Austin Stowell (NCIS: Origins) and was filmed for/shelved by Netflix, and instead will hit select theaters and VOD on July 12.
