What’s next for ‘Golden Bachelor’ Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist after shock divorce news — and why she is still wearing the ring
He put a ring on it — and she seems to be having trouble taking it off.
“Golden Bachelor” alum Theresa Nist was spotted wearing her wedding band on Friday despite the announcement that she and her husband Gerry Turner were filing for divorce after just three months of marriage.
The 70-year-old reality star was seen outside of her New Jersey office building sporting the dazzling, 18-diamond eternity band on her ring finger. That’s not to be confused with her engagement ring, given to her by Turner on the show, was noticeably missing.
“It’s beautiful, beyond. Beyond, beyond. So gorgeous. I love it,” she previously People of the engagement ring.
Nist previously announced that she would be returning the Neil Lane bling — a 3.15 carat sparkler with a princess cut diamond — since the pair was splitting, she said when appearing alongside Turner on Good Morning America to announce the grim news.
“Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations … and looked closely to our living situations,” Turner, 72, said on Friday, saying he still loves Nist despite the decision to “dissolve” the marriage.
“We just feel like it’s best for the happiness of each of us to live apart.”
Fellow “Golden Bachelor” contestant Susan Noles revealed on social media that the reason for the separation was allegedly because “neither one of them can leave their families.”
“We looked at homes in South Carolina, we considered New Jersey, and we just looked at homes after home, but we never got to the point where we made that decision,” Nist said on Good Morning America.
The couple, who has a prenup, met on the first season of the “Golden Bachelor” and wed in January during a televised ceremony. On Friday, they revealed they are still open for love — just not with each other.
Just hours after the shocking announcement, Turner officially filed for divorce in his hometown of Petersburg, Indiana, and docs obtained by The Post stated that “the marriage of the parties should be dissolved because of irretrievable breakdown.”
America was smitten with Turner, the franchise’s first Golden Bachelor, until a bombshell report from the Hollywood Reporter alleged that the widower broke up with an old flame, named “Carolyn,” after she supposedly gained weight.
At the time, he said the allegations against him didn’t “fit with all of the positive things” in his life.
“I mean, I’m sitting across from Theresa right now, and I look at her, and she’s the love of my life. And I really don’t have time to think about some of the other stuff,” he previously told the New York Times.
“I have the wonderful love of Theresa, my partner,” he added. “I don’t have time to reflect on comments like this. I’m happy to look forward.”
