Nick Cannon Asserts Mariah Carey “Doesn’t Want Him” And Has “Moved On”

Nick Cannon has spoken on the possibilities of rekindling his relationship with his ex-wife Mariah Carey, and according to the TV mogul — it probably won’t happen.

While attending the Fox Fall Press Day on Thursday (Sept. 5), the actor and TV mogul addressed prior remarks he made about “absolutely” wanting to get back with his ex. Although his love for the 55-year-old icon still burns, he made it clear that Carey’s flame has extinguished.

“Yeah, she don’t want me,” the 43-year-old told PEOPLE. “She’s moved on from my crazy antics.”

Earlier this month, the Wild ‘N Out creator revealed to E! News that he’d been keeping his hopes alive for another chance with the “Obsessed” singer. “We belong together,” he said at the time while adding that he would “absolutely” rekindle their romance if given the chance.

Carey and Cannon married in 2008 and welcomed their now-13-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, in 2011. However, the couple separated in 2014 and finalized their divorce two years later. Since then, Cannon has gone on to father 10 more children.

In addition to his twins, Cannon shares sons Golden Sagon, 7, and Rise Messiah, 1, and daughter Powerful Queen, 3, with Brittany Bell. He also has another set of twins, Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir, 3, and daughter Beautiful Zeppelin, 1, with Abby De La Rosa. The former rapper additionally shares his son Legendary Love with Bre Tiesi and daughter Onyx Ice Cole with LaNisha Cole. With Alyssa Scott, Cannon shares a daughter Halo Marie Cannon, 1, and a late son, Zen, who passed away at 5 months old in 2021 due to brain cancer.

As his family dynamic may seem like a lot to manage, the “Gigolo” rhymer claimed that all of the children’s mothers get along, even though he doesn’t “expect them to.”

“I think that’s the thing that people might always think that it would be that,” he explained to E!. “But it’s like everybody lives their own life, before me and after me. So I think that’s how you keep the peace and everybody moving, like everybody worried about themselves and not worried about what someone else is.”

“As long as the kids are happy and they have the strongest understanding, I think that’s what makes sense. You gotta operate out of that,” he added.
