Nicki Minaj Clashes With Steve Stout Over Tidal Payment Comments
Nicki Minaj is taking her issue with JAY-Z to new heights as she now looks to slam Steve Stoute. Stoute recently appeared on Ryan Clark’s The Pivot podcast, where the executive spoke about a litany of topics, such as Minaj, who publicly tore JAY-Z down after he tapped Kendrick Lamar for the Super Bowl in New Orleans instead of Lil Wayne.
Along with the SB comments, Minaj had also took a couple shots at Jay, who she claimed didn’t pay her for her deal with Tidal, after he allegedly sold it off for $300 million.
Stoute cleared the air and explained why Minaj wasn’t paid, saying, “I think in that case, what Nicki did was wrong. To bring up Tidal, his streaming company, that he gave you equity in, that you didn’t sign the f**king paperwork and that’s the reason why you left millions of dollars on the table, [JAY-Z] didn’t do nothing to you. That crabs in a barrel thing…we can’t do that. That’s Black-on-Black crime,” he added. “I don’t like that. I think Nicki is great, great, great artist. Very successful career. Don’t do that… do [that], do that in private.”
Nicki clapped back at Stoute with a flurry of posts uploaded to X/Twitter. During her online rant, Minaj doubled down on her disdain for Hov, recalling her version of what went down with the Tidal deal.
“I received a call advising Tidal was sold & they made no money on the deal, so all they could offer me was a million dollars,” she typed. “But wait, there’s more! The lawyer advised that Desirat advised him that I HAD TO SIGN THE AGREEMENT IN 24 HOURS IF I WANTED THE 1MM or the ‘offer’ was off the table. Listen to the end of ‘Fractions’ for what my response was.”
For reference, towards the end of “Fractions” from the re-release of her acclaimed mixtape, Beam Me Up, Scotty, Minaj raps this line: “While I count a mill’, jigga what? Jigga who? (What or why?).”
Minaj’s rant then continued, taking aim at more unnamed men who she claims are “lying” on her. The Queens rapper even went as far as claiming that JAY-Z offered her “hush money” towards the culmination of the Tidal deal.
Nicki ended her flurry of criticisms by claiming that Steve Stoute only brought up the deal because he was trying to distract the masses from Diddy’s high-profile case.
“Every day a new man pushing 60 years of age gets fingered in the bussy then made to come on this internet & lie on me. God is in control. Bookmark this. I’d advise yall to never mention my name again,” she added. “So Barbz, thank you for supporting something I was a part of. I love you. But I was scammed & offered a million dollars to be silenced. I declined. The grace of God is sufficient. I didn’t need their hush money.”
“They gotta keep the conversation on me so that no one asks about these charges against their BFF. I mean it seems the 30 year old tea here is FAR from stale. Patterns. Yet. SAS, UGLY ALIEN, STOUT, d*ck breath, etc all talking about Onika? Why they talking bout Oniqua?!?!?!”
