Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber Head a Family of Suspects in a Murder Case in ‘The Perfect Couple’ Teaser Trailer
A wedding takes a deadly turn in the teaser trailer for Netflix’s The Perfect Couple.
Nicole Kidman stars in the series adaptation of Elin Hilderbrand’s New York Times bestselling novel of the same name, about Amelia Sacks (Eve Hewson), a bride set to marry into one of Nantucket’s wealthiest families. Ahead of the big day, the family has spared no expense in planning what is promised to be the “premiere wedding of the season.” However, the wedding bliss disappears when a body turns up on the beach.

“As secrets come to light, the stage is set for a real-life investigation that feels plucked from the pages of one of Greer’s novels. Suddenly, everyone is a suspect,” Netflix teases of the series.
Kidman will play Greer Garrison Winbury, the groom’s mother, while Liev Schreiber will play Tag Winbury, the groom’s father.
In the trailer, Hewson prepares for her big day as she enters the glamorous world of the Nantucket family, at one point even asking at the dinner table why they have people sign NDAs.
“The key to this family is to just stay on the periphery where it’s safe,” Dakota Fanning advises Hewson’s Ameila.
After a body is discovered on the beach, an investigation begins with the police shown questioning Kidman’s Greer. “Is there something you want to tell me?,” one officer asks Kidman. Meanwhile, a seemingly unfazed Schreiber tells officers, “It all feels dramatic for an accidental drowning.”
“We never know what’s going on in someone’s mind really. No matter how close you are,” Kidman can be overheard saying in the trailer.
Billy Howle, Jack Reynor, Ishaan Khatter, Meghann Fahy, Sam Nivola, Michael Beach, Donna Lynne Champlin, Mia Isaac and Isabelle Adjani also star in the upcoming limited series.
Susanne Bier will direct all six episodes and executive produce alongside showrunner Jenna Lamia. Hilderbrand executive produces alongside Shawn Levy for 21 Laps Entertainment, Gail Berman and Hend Baghdady for The Jackal Group, Kidman and Per Saari for Blossom Films and Josh Barry.
The Perfect Couple will premiere globally on Netflix on Sept. 5.
