Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise’s Scientologist son Connor shares rare photos of his very private life

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman’s son Connor has shared a look into his private world.

The 29-year-old posted two photos on his Instagram story on Saturday, Aug. 17. Connor has not posted anything on his account since 2023.

The first of the two snaps showed Cruise and Kidman’s son standing on what appears to be an oceanfront road with the sun fading on the horizon. He and a friend have their arms around each other, and his pal is holding a French bulldog. Dressed in a black polo, light-colored shorts, gray sneakers and a baseball hat, Connor gives a thumbs-up.

The friend appears to be Jack Vasilaros, who uses the Instagram handle @hookedforlife. He runs fishing charters out of Clearwater and Boca Grande, Florida. A Scientologist like his famous father, Connor lives in Clearwater, which is also home to Scientology HQ.

“Happy Birthday @hookedforlife,” Connor wrote in a caption over the first Instagram story.

In his follow-up post, Connor shared another birthday message, writing, “Happy Birthday buddy!” over a photo of him and three male pals on a boat with a giant fish they seem to have caught.

Connor tagged @fountainofyouthfishing, who appears to be a man named Jeff Putney. According to his Instagram profile, he is an avid tournament fishing enthusiast.

The former DJ has loved fishing for years, posting his oceanic exploits on social media as far back as 2014. His friendship with Vasilaros appears to go as far back to 2021, when the captain first appeared on Connor’s main Instagram feed.

“We used to go fishing a lot when I was a little kid,” he said in an interview with People magazine in 2016. “I was blessed to travel the world as a young kid and now I’m traveling the world working.”

Connor has rarely been seen out in public since 2023. His last Instagram post from April 2023 showed him golfing at Pelican Golf Club in Florida.

As a result, he drew plenty of attention when he was spotted in London in June exiting a helicopter with his famous father and when he popped up in December in a photo shared on Instagram by former NFL player Derrick Brooks.

Connor was adopted by father Tom, 62, and mom Kidman, 57, not long after he was born in 1995. The couple — who divorced in 2001 — had previously adopted their daughter Isabella, 31.

Connor has three other half-siblings: Sunday, 16, and Faith, 13, whom Kidman has with husband Keith Urban, and Suri, 18, from Tom’s marriage to Katie Holmes, 45.
