Nicole Kidman Wows in Reimagined Archival Balenciaga Gown at U.K. Premiere of Netflix’s ‘The Perfect Couple’
Nicole Kidman attended the U.K. premiere of her upcoming Netflix mystery drama, “The Perfect Couple,” wearing a black gown from Balenciaga’s pre-fall 2024 collection. The gown, which Kidman first saw from the front row at the collection’s Los Angeles runway show earlier this year, exemplifies the brand’s fusion of modern design with historical references.
The gown is a strapless minimalist creation made from black satin. It reflects creative director Demna’s deep admiration for Balenciaga’s archives, specifically paying homage to Cristóbal Balenciaga’s original designs. The dress references the founding designers “envelope dress” that Balenciaga introduced on the runway in 1967, showcasing a modern take on the iconic silhouette.

In “The Perfect Couple,” Kidman plays Greer Garrison Winbury, a prominent character involved in a high-society wedding that becomes the center of a criminal investigation. The series, which is set to premiere on Netflix on Thursday, follows the unraveling mystery as secrets and tensions come to light. Kidman’s role as Winbury promises to be one of the standout performances in this highly anticipated series.
The actress began the 81st Venice International Film Festival appearances just a few days earlier, donning a Schiaparelli ensemble from the fall 2024 couture collection by creative director Daniel Roseberry. She wore the look at the premiere of her new erotic thriller “Babygirl.” The outfit featured a structured corset adorned with beaded fringe paired with a velvet column skirt. She completed the ensemble with Roberto Coin jewelry, including diamond-encrusted rings and pearl drop earrings.
