‘The Night Agent’ Scores Early Season 3 Renewal at Netflix
Netflix will keep The Night Agent on call beyond its forthcoming second season.
The streamer has renewed The Night Agent for a third season, with the pickup coming several months before season two premieres. Netflix hasn’t set a specific date for the show’s return but says it will premiere in winter 2025 (which is slightly later than Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarando said the show would debut on an earnings call earlier this year).

Production on season three is set to begin late this year in Istanbul and continue in New York after the new year.
Created by Shawn Ryan and produced by Sony Pictures Television, The Night Agent was a breakout hit for Netflix last year. The show’s first season currently ranks seventh all time among English-language series in the streamer’s internal rankings (which measure viewing for 13 weeks after a show’s premiere). It was also the second-most-watched original streaming series in the United States in 2023, according to Nielsen’s year-end tallies of total viewing time.
Season one of the series, which is based on a novel by Matthew Quirk, follows low-level FBI agent Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso), who works in the White House basement and mans a phone that never rings. One night, however, it does, drawing him into a vast conspiracy and protecting a tech CEO, Rose Larkin (Luciane Buchanan), connected to the plot.
In season two, Peter has the chance to become a Night Agent based on his previous actions, but working in the secretive organization of Night Action will propel him into a world where danger is everywhere and trust is in short supply.
Ryan (SWAT, The Shield) is the showrunner for The Night Agent. He executive produces season two with Marney Hochman; Paul Bernard; Munis Rashid; Guy Ferland; Exhibit A Films’ Seth Gordon and Julia Gunn; David Beaubaire of Sunset Lane Media; and Project X Entertainment’s Paul Neinstein, William Sherak, Nicole Tossou and James Vanderbilt.
