Spiner and O’Donnell guest-starred in six episodes of Night Court’s original NBC run as the Wheelers, a dirt-poor couple who always seemed to get the short end of the stick. Plus, Big Bang Theory alum Kate Micucci will play the Wheelers’ daughter Carol Ann, who’s now all grown up. (Micucci joins fellow Big Bang star Melissa Rauch on Night Court, although Micucci’s Lucy and Rauch’s Bernadette never crossed paths on Big Bang.)
“Huge surprises are in store for Dan when he’s tasked with representing Bob and June Wheeler, the notoriously unfortunate couple from the original iteration who resurface — this time with daughter Carol Ann in tow,” per the official synopsis. “While 30 years may have elapsed, their bad luck undoubtedly continues to plague them.”
Spiner, of course, went on to play android lieutenant Data on Star Trek: The Next Generation, a role he reprised in four Star Trek movies and then on Paramount+’s Star Trek: Picard. O’Donnell’s other TV credits include Days of Our Lives, Big Love and… yes, two episodes of The Big Bang Theory.
Along with the Wheelers, Night Court will also welcome SNL vet Julia Sweeney in the March 12 episode (8/7c, NBC), with her playing a psychic who helps Abby settle a longstanding argument she had with her late father. Read on to see more photos from the episode, and then hit the comments and tell us if you’re excited to see the Wheelers again.
