Nike Just Restocked a Ton of Sold-Out Kobe Sneakers for Kobe Bryant Day
More from Footwear News
Today is Kobe Bryant Day — a day celebrated to honor the late NBA legend. The August 24 date is significant because it combines Bryant’s two uniform numbers, 8 and 24, and falls one day after his August 23 birthday. The holiday was established in 2016 following Bryant’s retirement from the NBA, but it’s taken on a more emotional meaning since his untimely passing in 2020. For this year’s observance, Nike held a massive Kobe sneaker restock via its online SNKRS platform.
In total, eight different Kobe styles were offered for their original retail prices including the Nike Kobe 4 Protro “Gift of Mamba,” Nike Kobe 4 Protro “Philly,” Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Italian Camo,” Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Reverse Grinch,” Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Aqua,” Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Court Purple,” Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Halo” and the Nike Kobe 8 Protro “Venice Beach.” In addition to the adult sizes, select styles were also made available in big kids and little kids sizing.
The restock occurred August 24 at 11:24 a.m. with Nike’s official announcement coming just moments beforehand. It was billed as a surprise drop, but many social media accounts had speculated about the restocks and some had even identified the sneakers that would be included.
Although the Kobe Day 2024 restock has concluded and all of the styles are now sold out, there are numerous noteworthy Nike Kobe shoes on the way soon including three different versions of the Kobe 9 Protro “Halo” and the Halloween-themed Nike Kobe 5 Protro “X-ray.” In the meantime, readers can find all of today’s restocks below and shop them now on resale platforms such as StockX and GOAT.
