How Nikki Garcia's Twin Sister Brie Is Supporting Her Amid Artem Chigvintsev Domestic Violence Arrest

It’s been a week since Nikki Garcia’s husband, Artem Chigvintsev, was arrested for domestic violence at their Napa, California home. While he awaits arraignment on Nov. 4, Nikki is reportedly leaning on her twin sister, Brie Garcia, for support.

Brie’s reported reaction to the incident was understandable given the fact that the 40-year-old siblings are extremely close. A source told the Daily Mail that Brie was “disgusted, shocked, disappointed, and just sad that this happened. She loves Artem, and for this to be going down is so out of the realm of possibility of the person who she knows. Brie is very concerned about it all and is there for her sister at all costs.” The advice Brie is allegedly giving her sister also reflects the reported moves Nikki is making behind the scenes.

According to TMZ, Nikki began making phone calls on Friday, Aug. 30 to secure a divorce lawyer. She was also spotted without her wedding ring on Monday’s Netflix broadcast of Chestnut vs. Kobayashi: Unfinished Beef, which she co-hosted with Rob Riggle. It seems that Brie believes that Nikki is making the right move, not only for herself, but also for her son, Matteo, 4, whom she shares with Chigvintsev.

“Brie, who is obviously the closest to Nikki, as anyone would, is telling her to leave Artem, if this is as bad as it seems, and if it happened before, once she finds out everything that happened, she will be the first to tell Nikki to leave him,” the Daily Mail source added. Both TMZ and the Daily Mail have confirmed that the couple had “verbal troubles,” but everyone seems surprised that it “got physical.”

Nikki is continuing to “ask for privacy” while she navigates her next steps in her marriage to the Dancing With the Stars pro. Nikki gushed about her sister in 2020 about how Brie is her “ride or die” in this life. “So lucky to have the support and love of my sister. It’s helped me create magic in this world and smile when days seem tough,” she wrote on her Instagram account. “My rock for life.” Nikki knows that Brie will always have her back.
