Nina Dobrev says 'surgery was a success' after injuring her leg in e-bike accident

"I'm such a baby when it comes to needles, blood or procedures of any kind," the "Vampire Diaries" star confessed ahead of the procedure.

Nina Dobrev has a positive update about her slow recovery after suffering a nasty bike accident in May.

"Surgery was a success," the actress captioned a Thursday Instagram post. “Thank you to everyone who has been sending kind messages, thoughts, prayers, and good vibes. I have been feeling the support and positive energy. It means more than you will ever know.”

Her words of gratitude were accompanied by two post-surgery photos, with Dobrev still in the hospital after receiving treatment. One of the images sees her surrounded by equipment, but still smiling as she gives the camera a thumbs up.

The update was met with love from fans and fellow celebs alike, including Dobrev’s beau, Olympian snowboarder Shaun White. “WE ALL LOVE YOU,” he commented.

Prior to sharing the good news, the former The Vampire Diaries star got candid about her fears going into the surgery. In a selfie shared on Instagram Stories, the actress was pictured in her hospital gown with watery eyes, a frown, and a thumbs down.

“Anyone else get scared before surgery?,” she wrote above the photo. “I'm such a baby when it comes to needles, blood or procedures of any kind.”

The second photo also saw Dobrev in her hospital bed, covered in blankets except for her injured leg peeking out between the sheets. “Had to get one last photo of my leg - pristine- before it's all scarred up,” read the text overlay.

The final slide was a video of Dobrev using a marker to write “Yes” on her injured leg.

“Fun fact: they make you draw on whatever extremity is being operated on to confirm that is the correct limb,” she explained. “(Because I guess it's happened in the past that some surgeons have accidentally operated on the wrong limb.) Yikes!!!”

The Love Hard actress has not disclosed any additional details about the accident or the exact injury or operation she endured. Representatives for Dobrev did not respond to Entertainment Weekly’s request for comment.

Dobrev last updated followers on June 2, offering a peek into her post-injury life that included lying in bed with her dogs, visiting the doctor's office on crutches, and laughing as White danced around in a sweatshirt that referenced one of her TVD characters, Elena Gilbert. All the while, her leg remained in a brace.

"Life looks a lil different lately,” she wrote in the caption. “Trading in the ‘selfie’ for the ‘leggie’. Get ready for the leg content because that’s all I’ve got in my camera roll these days.”

Her original post, on May 20, saw the actress in a much worse state with a neck brace to match her knee brace.
