‘Ninja’ Is Top Twitch Streamer, More Than Doubling Nearest Competitors
Tyler “Ninja” Blevins wracked up 226.85 million streams via Twitch this year, more than doubling his nearest competitor and aggregating more views than the second and third-place finishers combined.
TEO Analytics and esportsobserver calculated the total viewing hours across the top ten Twitch channels for the entire year. Ninja set new viewership and subscription records, and also recorded more views than the top three channels from last year combined.
Blevins is part of a vanguard that saw channels across the top ten on Twitch with higher viewership than last year. Jaryd “Summit1g” Lazar was the most watched streamer last year with 72.45M hours watched. Four channels have already eclipsed that number this year.
Ninja is managing the rare feat of breaking out of gaming into the mainstream. He’s been a guest on Ellen and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. He’s also hosting Twitch’s New Year’s Eve event, which started at 4 PM ET and will run through the ball drop until 4 AM ET. View it at twitch.tv/ninja.
