No, Ne-Yo didn't force his baby mama to get her tubes tied
Ne-Yo wants to make #GoodManSeason a thing — it’s a response, inspired by his single “Good Man,” to the various feminist movements calling out reprehensible male behavior. It’s his way of creating a positive hashtag encouraging men to be loyal and decent. But fans are calling him out on that, citing gossip about his somewhat complicated past love life.
Well, the singer isn’t having it, and he exploded into an epic rant over the weekend, addressing the matter.
The R&B star has been posting on Instagram using the hashtag, most pointedly on March 17, when he mused about bringing back old-fashioned monogamy.

While the majority of comments on the post were enthusiastically positive, several fans made mention of the gossip that’s swirled about the singer since he separated from his ex-fiancée Monyetta Shaw after she had two of his children. Shaw said in an interview she had her tubes tied at his request following the birth of their second child — only to have him call off their wedding, find new love with now-wife Crystal Renay, and have two more children with her.
Shaw seems to have moved on from the drama, wishing her ex and his new family well, but fans haven’t.
Ne-Yo hasn’t exactly moved on either, apparently still vulnerable to the criticism. He posted a multi-swipe rant in response to haters on Instagram March 18, consisting of a variety of strong statements on a bold black background.

He emphasized that he did not leave his ex-fiancée for his new wife (in fact, he clarified he hadn’t even met her at the time of the split), and that he did not force his ex to undergo a tubal ligation. In fact, he said, he’s “never forced a woman to do anything ever in my life.”
The singer added a few choice words about the follies of casting judgment on others, concluding that he isn’t and wasn’t perfect, but that he’s trying to better himself.
To drive his point home, he posted a follow-up shot of himself staring intently at his phone … and noted that he was likely checking on when the new season of Game of Thrones was going to premiere.
