Nominees Announced For Queensland Music Awards 2024
QMusic – Queensland’s music industry development association – have announced the full list of nominees for the 2024 Queensland Music Awards. The awards ceremony is set to take place on Wednesday April 17th at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall. Tickets to attend the ceremony can be accessed via Ticketmaster here, and the full list of finalists can be viewed below.
Though the majority of awards are panel-voted, there are also four People’s Choice categories: Metro Venue Of The Year, Regional Venue Of The Year and Festival Of The Year. Those wishing to vote in those categories can do so here.
Several artists are up for two awards, including Cub Sport, The Jungle Giants, Tia Gostelow and Jordan Briton. “So grateful to be part of the awards again this year,” said Briton when reacting to the news of his double nomination on Instagram. “Can’t wait to see what’s in store for everyone.”
Jem Cassar-Daley – ‘King of Disappointment’
Jem Cassar-Daley also features in the nominations list, having scored a nod for her 2023 single ‘King Of Disappointment’ in the Pop category. The singer-songwriter described it as “a true honour and privilege to be a finalist” in a press statement. “It makes me so incredibly proud to be a part of such an inclusive and supportive music community, one that is worth celebrating,” she said.
Last year’s ceremony saw Thelma Plum take out Song Of The Year for ‘Backseat Of My Mind’ and Ball Park Music take out Album Of The Year for Weirder & Weirder. The former also took out the Pop Award category, with other winners on the night including Amy Shark (Highest Selling Single), DZ Deathrays (Heavy Award), WAAX (Rock Award) and Sycco (Electronic/Dance Award).
