Norman Reedus says he owes “Walking Dead” costar Andrew Lincoln $16,000 in lost backgammon bets
"Unless he's lying — which, knowing Andy, he's probably lying," Reedus tells EW.
When it comes to playing backgammon for money against Andrew Lincoln, his Walking Dead costar Norman Reedus has some advice: Don't.
During a visit to Entertainment Weekly's Comic-Con 2024 video suite to talk about the new season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, Reedus revealed that he owes his friend and former castmate a ton of money from lost board game bets — in part because Lincoln isn't afraid to call out arcane, possibly made-up rules.
"He tried to pull some rule on me," Reedus explained. "He was like, 'You owe me $1,000. Now you owe me $2,000.' And I couldn't tell if he was messing with my head or anything."

According to Reedus, the debt kept growing. "I think I owe him like maybe $16,000 at this point," he said. "Unless he's lying — which, knowing Andy, he's probably lying."
Just add it to the long list of shenanigans the two have pulled on each other over the years. Reedus recounted one time when he "messed [Lincoln] up so good" with a particular prank, and noted that Lincoln still hasn't gotten him back in the same way. "He's British, he doesn't know how to do a prank," Reedus gloated.
He went on to recall one ambitious practical joke that he planned to pull on Lincoln but ultimately didn't come to fruition.

"When COVID happened, we're still shooting in Georgia, and you have to go into these rooms and you have to do a swab test, like thousands of times every hour," Reedus said. "Andy was coming to set, so what I did, I made a giant swab about this big, and then I put a poster inside a trailer showing that it's an anal swab. And I was going to put [cameras] in the room so that Andy has to go in there and they're like, 'Here you go, here's the swab. We'll be back in a minute.'"
He wanted to record Lincoln's reaction to seeing the size of the supposed anal swab. "I was going to do the whole thing and something happened with his plans and he backed out last minute," Reedus lamented. "So yeah, he cannot even hold a candle to me. He should just retire the prank war."
