Normani Embraces Elphaba Green with Bold, Trendy Shoes at ‘Wicked’ Los Angeles Premiere
More from Footwear News
Normani visually pledged her allegiance to Team Green while at the Los Angeles premiere for the new film “Wicked.” She was on hand with others like Michaela Jae Rodriguez to support the blockbuster’s roll out. And though she’s not a part of the cast, she chose, like stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, to do a bit of theme dressing. For the event, the singer and former Fifth Harmony star wore a short green GCDS dress, black tights and a pair of trendy shoes.
Normani’s footwear is the Jimmy Choo Bing heel. The shoe is a mule style which has been trending for the past two years. It features a pointed toe and a rounded vamp. The upper is largely made of semi-sheer PVC. It also sits atop a heel of almost four inches.
The slip-on style also features a strap across the top of the foot. The strap is made of crystals to provide sparkling glamour to the design. The company sells versions of the mule for $1,095. It doesn’t appear that the company sells the pair Normani wore but they do offer it in a black patent leather as well as nude patent leather.
For those who enjoy the details but prefer the security of a pump, Jennifer Garner wore Jimmy Choo’s Bobbie pumps to the Baby2Baby Gala this weekend in Los Angeles as well. That style similarly features a pointed toe, rounded vamp and crystal strap across the top of the foot. But, the d’orsay style pump provides additional support by way coverage on the back of the heel as well as an ankle strap.
This isn’t Normani’s first mule this year so it’s unlikely she needed the additional support. The performer, who is working with the stylist Lorenzo Posocco now, was in mules back in September during fashion week. While attending the Mugler spring 2025 show during Paris Fashion Week, Normani was one of a number of starlets wearing the company’s Fang mule. Made of black leather, the style includes a sharply pointed toe. Her version was made with a suede upper.
She’s also been wearing slingbacks which are another trending style. During Milan Fashion Week she attended the Fendi spring 2025 show wearing a pair of slingbacks from Fendi. It was the company’s Vitello style which features a metallic heel in the shape of an upside down F. Even at the beginning fo the year, back in January, she was wearing slingbacks in a pair of platform stiletto Christian Louboutin heels featuring a furry upper and peeptoe. She wore those to the premiere of “Freaky Tales” during Sundance Film Festival.
