Obama shares 2024 summer music playlist, which Nashville stars made the cut?
Former U.S. President Barack Obama is a well-known music lover and playlist curator who drops seasonal playlists.
On Monday, he released his summer 2024 playlist, which included some familiar Nashville names.
On X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, Obama said, "With summer winding down, I wanted to share some songs that I’ve been listening to lately – and it wouldn’t be my playlist if it didn’t include an eclectic mix. I hope you find something new to listen to!"

Obama shared a two-page list of what he's been blasting recently, complete with songs of the summer like Charli XCX's "365" and Tommy Richman's "Million Dollar Baby."
Obama's list included hits from GloRilla, Tyla, Bob Marley, Bob Dylan, Sting and even Etta James. His tastes, per usual, cross genres and decades.
This summer, a handful of Nashville musicians made the cut on the former president's playlist. Read on to see whose tunes went from Music City to the Capitol.

At the very top of the list lay Shaboozey's "A Bar Song (Tipsy)," a breakout single that has spent five nonconsecutive week at the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100.
Another Nashville star, Lucinda Williams appeared on the playlist with “Unsuffer Me,” a 2007 song from her album "West."
The singer-songwriter and guitarist, championed for her folk-rock edge, is best known for tunes "Fruits Of My Labor" and "Can't Let Go."
It turns out that Obama is also blasting Moneybagg Yo and Morgan Wallen's song “Whiskey Whiskey."
The collaboration appeared on Yo's 2024 album "Speak Now," becoming the album's runaway hit.
A rap-country crossover with catchy lyrics, the former president is likely even singing along: "Whiskey, whiskey, won't you go away? / Come again some other day."
And last but not least, towards the end of his playlist, Obama added Beyoncé's song “Texas Hold ‘Em.”
The track debuted on February 11, an uptempo country-pop tune which came to represent Beyoncé's crossover into country music.
The song topped the American Billboard Hot 100 charts, becoming the ninth solo number one single for Beyoncé.
