Ocean Sleeper Drop New Single ‘Heaven’ Ahead Of Good Things Performance
Gunaikurnai/Gippsland-based heavy trio Ocean Sleeper are gearing up for their debut performance at the East Coast-roaming punk, rock and metal festival Good Things this weekend by dropping a brand new single, ‘Heaven’. “‘Heaven’ is about not wanting a part of religious ideologies and the concept of heaven itself,” frontman Karl Spiessl said of the self-produced track. “The lyric line ‘I hope you burn with the rest of us’ refers to the corruption of the church. If heaven is a place you end up for treating people badly; then why would you want to be there with those people? Why do I have to fear the afterlife because we don’t share the same faith? For us, heaven is being kind to the people around us in this life. Support everyone for what they love and who they love.”
