Octavia Spencer on the Life Hack That Makes Her Feel Like Chef Ina Garten: ‘And I Don’t Cook’ (Exclusive)
The Oscar winner, who executive-produced the new ID Network shows 'Lost Women of Highway 20' and 'FEDS', spoke to PEOPLE for One Last Thing
Octavia Spencer is planning to put a newly learned life hack to good use this holiday season.
The Oscar winner, 53, recently watched a video that demonstrated a simple way to make French toast for a big group of people. "You just put a loaf of bread in a bread pan," she tells PEOPLE. "I'll use it for Thanksgiving if I have a lot of people over. I don’t cook at all, so when you show me something that’s a one-pan thing, I feel like Ina Garten."
Spencer, who executive-produced two new ID Network shows, the three-part true-crime documentary Lost Women of Highway 20 and the FBI series FEDS, spoke to PEOPLE for One Last Thing:
Last moment of self-care:
A nice hot bath and lots of, dare I say it, red wine. Sometimes you have to let the water out and put more hot water in because you’ve been in there too long.
Last time I stayed up too late:
Because of Halloween season, I watched all the horror classics for a couple of nights, and I was up until 5 a.m. I had to wait until that first burst of sunlight because I was terrified.
Last wardrobe malfunction
Just a moment ago, things could have gotten really racy. I felt a breeze and realized I hadn’t zipped my pants. I kept thinking, “What is going on?”
Last irrational fear:
A couple of days ago, I walked into a spiderweb. And then all day, you know there’s a spider on you. Any movement in your hair is like, “I knew it!”
All three parts of Lost Women of Highway 20 premiere back-to-back on Nov. 5 starting at 9/8c on ID. FEDS is now streaming on ID, with new episodes premiering weekly.
