A new Christmas-themed book centered around NBC sitcom The Office is arriving on shelves this year — and PEOPLE has an exclusive first look! The Night Before Christmas at Dunder Mifflin, written by Emmy winner Brian Baumgartner who played Kevin on the series and the show’s producer Ben Silverman will be published this November by Mariner Books. It's an Office-themed take on the classic 'Twas the Night Before Christmas poem, perfect for fans of the show.
It’s Christmas Eve at paper company Dunder Mifflin, and boss Michael Scott is missing. As Dunder Mifflin’s employees doze off the excitement of their office holiday party, they’re joined by two unexpected visitors: Santa and his right-hand elf.

The Night Before Christmas at Dunder Mifflin isn’t the first time Baumgartner and Silverman have collaborated on a book together. In 2021, the team co-wrote Welcome to Dunder Mifflin, the official oral history of the hit show, which aired from 2005 to 2013.
The book, which incorporates exclusive interviews with the cast and crew, takes fans behind the scenes into the making of the show. Welcome to Dunder Mifflin also included insight into scrapped storylines from the show, including a plot point where Jim, the character played by John Krasinski, had an affair while married to Pam (Jenna Fischer).

Baumgartner is also the author of the Seriously Good Barbeque Cookbook and the Seriously Good Chili Cookbook. The latter is a nod to his Office character, who infamously spills a large pot of chili in a fan-favorite scene from the show.

The Night Before Christmas at Dunder Mifflin will be published on Nov. 5, 2024 and is now available for preorder, wherever books are sold. The audiobook edition of the book will also be narrated by Baumgartner.
