It's official: Clare Crawley exits The Bachelorette — and gets engaged!
After a whirlwind romance that mostly consisted of one reality TV contestant talking to a camera about how much she liked another reality TV contestant, season 16 Bachelorette star Clare Crawley has made her long-awaited exit from the series... and she's engaged!
That's right, rose lovers. On tonight's episode of The Bachelorette, Dale Moss — the 31-year-old former pro football player from South Dakota — proposed to Crawley, 38, entirely of his own volition and with no prodding from producers.
Clare's decision to leave was the worst-kept secret in Bachelor Nation, as fans began hearing rumblings over the summer about drama on set. Tonight's episode began with host Chris Harrison questioning Clare about her obvious feelings for Dale, and asking her how she wanted to proceed. "I would just love to spend as much time as I can with him," she said. The host followed up with, "So in your mind right now, is this over?" A tearful Clare nodded and replied, "Yeah." Soon after that, Clare accepted Dale's proposal... after knowing him about 12 days.
Fortunately, producers have Tayshia Adams on hand to step in as the new Bachelorette. And check out EW's full recap of all the Bachelorette drama.
The Bachelorette airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
