Offshore Coffee Co. to open second location in Belmar
Long Branch's popular Offshore Coffee Co. will be coming to Belmar soon.
At 800 Main St., in the former Stay Gold Café & Lounge, owners Jack Campbell and Jason Fernandez of Middletown, and Ross Mackay of Long Branch, will open the coffee hub's second location at the Shore.
This small-batch coffee roaster serves regular drip coffee, cold brew, espresso-based drinks, iced mochas and matcha — as well as seasonal breakfast toasts, smoothie bowls, salads, and baked goods from New York City's famed Balthazar Bakery.
The original Offshore Coffee Co. shop opened June 15, 2020. It quickly grew a following, and now supplies coffee at hot spots like Talula's and Butcher's Block.

Offshore teased the expansion in an Instagram video on March 19, stirring talk on social media.
"Our anticipated opening day is Memorial Day Weekend ... we're moving right along," Campbell said in an interview. "That announcement was more of a teaser ... [and] we have a lot more that you're going to see pretty soon."
Much of the opening construction and decorating is complete, including electrical and plumbing work, floor re-modeling and construction of the bar, he added.
"When I say open, I don't mean a soft opening," Campbell said. "I want to be 100% ready before Memorial Day weekend."

Offshore was born of the owners' love for coffee, starting out with just a tabletop coffee roaster in Campbell's basement.
"This is kind of passion project that grew legs," Campbell said in a past interview. "We were making coffee that we thought was good enough to push out."
