"Oh My Lanta," It's the Full House Cast: Catch Up With the Stars!

If you were one of the many who fell for the dreamy young Jesse Katsopolis and belly-laughed at the impressions by Joey Gladstone, then your Friday nights (later Tuesday nights) were booked up with the Full House cast.

The family-centered sitcom is well remembered for its stars, including John Stamos and Bob Saget, as well as the familial relationships between the Full House cast (on and off screen). Though the show didn’t start out at the peak of its popularity, the Full House audience grew overtime for its integration of life lessons at the end of nearly every episode.

A widowed sportscaster and father, Danny Tanner, calls on his Elvis obsessed brother-in-law, Jesse, and his zany best friend, Joey, for help raising his three daughters. Meanwhile, sisters D.J., Stephanie and Michelle Tanner deal with the loss of their mother, and over the course of the series, the girls grow up with the help of their father and new guardians.

The San Francisco home truly was a full house, with nine family members and frequent visitors Kimmy and Steve. Each episode was chock-full of classic lines like “How Rude!” and “Have Mercy,” which are instantly connected with the series.

Catch up with the Full House cast and and take a glimpse into the lives of the Tanner Family outside of San Francisco.

The “raddest, baddest dad," Danny Tanner, simply was that. Although his character is considered “uncool," audiences know that Danny was the best. Portrayed by comedian Bob Saget, the widowed father quickly won viewers over.

After his time in the Full House cast, Bob Saget continued to have major roles. In 2001, he took on a similar role to Danny Tanner on Raising Dad, where Saget plays a widowed father of two. Over the next few years, he had minor roles on Joey (2004), Huff (2004) and Law & Order: SVU (2006).

In 2005, Saget took on the role of the narrator on How I Met Your Mother for all nine seasons, concluding in 2014. Two years later, the actor reprised the part of Danny Tanner on Fuller House, which delighted original and new fans alike.

Unfortunately, the world lost Bob Saget in 2022, with the Full House cast putting out a statement saying, “Thirty-five years ago, we came together as a TV family, but we became a real family… We ask in Bob’s honor, hug the people you love. No one gave better hugs than Bob.”

Known best for his rock and roll persona and iconic Elvis impressions is Jesse Katsopolis, portrayed by John Stamos. While it’s unimaginable to call him anything but Uncle Jesse, originally the character's full name in season 1 was Jesse Cochran, but then it was changed to Jesse Katsopolis to represent Stamos’ Greek heritage.

The leather-wearing, Elvis singing uncle has captivated audiences for decades and that is thanks to Stamos. After Full House, he starred in multiple movies like A Match Made in Heaven (1997), The Marriage Fool (1998) and Dropping Out (2000). In 2001, Stamos starred in the series Thieves, but that came to a quick end. He then took on the role of Jake Phillips in Jake in Progress from 2005 to 2006.

Stamos then landed a major role on ER in 2005, where he became a series regular until 2009. The actor’s role on the series was in discussion for years before he became a series regular, but fell into place after the cancelation of Jake in Progress. After doing plenty of movies, Stamos starred on multiple series, among them Grandfathered (2015), Scream Queens (2016), You (2018), Fuller House and Big Shot (2022).

The king of comedy, Joey Gladstone, trademarked lines like “Cut it out” and the Mr. Woodchuck bit. Thanks to Dave Coulier, audiences got the fun-loving, hilarious Joey for eight years. While in the Full House cast, Coulier voiced Dr. Peter Venkman on The Real Ghostbusters series until 1991. After both series ended, the actor had guest spots on shows like Bruno the Kid (1996), Pinky and the Brain (1996) and The Savage Dragon (1996).

Over the years, Coulier continued to make appearances in shows like How I Met Your Mother, Grandfathered and American Dad! (2017). Most recently, the actor reprised his role of Joey Gladstone on Fuller House and he is starring on the series Live + Local (2022).

The middle sister, the adorable Stephanie Tanner was portrayed by Jodie Sweetin. Known well for her catchphrase “How Rude” and her sarcastic personality, Stephanie was a much-needed character. Though she goes through some rough patches over the seasons, she remains the lovable kid sister.

After Full House, Sweetin had roles in Farce of the Penguins (2006), Redefining Love (2009) and Singled Out (2012). In 2017, the actress followed in her on-screen sister, Cameron Bure’s, footsteps and joined Hallmark.

Her first film was Finding Santa (2017), which was followed by Entertaining Christmas (2018), Merry & Bright (2019) and Love Under the Rainbow (2019). Sweetin, too, reprised her role from the Full House cast in Fuller House. The actress married a few times over the years, but is currently with Mescal Wasilewski and has two children.

Full House was only the beginning of a very successful career for Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. The twins started on the show as Michelle Tanner at nine months and they took off from there. Michelle was the adorable baby sister, who was known for lines like “You got it Dude,” and her adorable relationship with Uncle Jesse.

After Full House, the Olsen twins starred in dozens of movies and few of their own series. They first starred in video series The Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley (1994) and went on to You’re Invited to Mary-Kate & Ashley’s Coolest Parties (1995). The twins then started to book movies together like It Takes Two (1995) and Billboard Dad (1998). In 1998, they started the series Two of a Kind, which lasted one season.

“Hola Tanneritos,” it’s Kimmy Gibbler, portrayed by Andrea Barber. Although she wasn’t blood related to the Tanners, the next-door neighbor and best friend to D.J. was certainly part of the family. But after her time in the Full House cast, Barber moved on from acting, deciding to focus on her education and attended college.

Barber became a stay-at-home mom in 2002 when she married and had two children. Then in 2016, she reprised her role as Kimmy on Fuller House. After that, she wrote a book on her journey called Full Circle: From Hollywood to Real Life and Back Again. Most recently, Barber starred in That Girl Lay Lay (2021).

Steve Hale wasn’t just D.J.’s boyfriend for a majority of the series: he was also the reason the Tanner’s refrigerator was always empty. Portrayed by Scott Weinger, the character was as lovable as any member of the Tanner family. During his time on Full House, Weinger became the voice of Disney’s Aladdin in 1992.

After the series, the actor continued to voice the character in different films and videos, as well as the series, Aladdin (1995). His days as the prince are far from over, as he is still bringing the character to life in Disney short films. In 2016, fans got to see a reunion between Steve and D.J, when the actors reprised their roles on Fuller House. Weinger has one child with wife Rina Mimoun.
