'Oklahoman Son' Zach Bryan releases self-produced, self-titled album

Country music fans are rejoicing this weekend as Zach Bryan’s new album released Friday.

The Oklahoma star's self-titled album includes 16 tracks, beginning with a poem titled “Fear and Friday’s.”

The project also includes four collaborations — The War And Treaty join Bryan on “Hey Driver,” Sierra Ferrell guests on “Holy Roller,” Kacey Musgraves is featured on “I Remember Everything” and The Lumineers share the spotlight with Bryan on “Spotless.”

“Really proud to call the writing and production on somethin’ all mine,” Bryan captioned his reveal on social media. “thank y’all for your patience, I didn’t make this album to appease people who will never be happy anyways, I made it for my people, hope everyone has a good weekend.”

Despite the excitement surrounding the album, many fans were frustrated to hear that the highly anticipated tune “Deep Satin” wouldn't be on it. However, Bryan explained on Twitter that he chose not to include the song on "Zach Bryan" because he wanted the album to be entirely self-produced and he did not have a hand in producing “Deep Satin.”

He did assure his fans that “Deep Satin” along with “a few more songs” will be released over the course of the next few months.

“I won’t keep anyone waiting I promise, I love you guys and I am so grateful I get to grow through this life with y’all,” Bryan wrote.

Who is Zach Bryan?

A viral YouTube star turned major-label recording artist, Bryan's sound mixes country, rock and Americana with an earthy authenticity and blue-collar ethos. The Navy veteran's music is rooted in vivid, original songcraft and has blossomed with his fiercely independent spirit, his ferociously faithful fan base and his road-warrior approach to his live shows. Those are all hallmarks of Oklahoma's Red Dirt music.

Given his Oklahoma roots — he was born in Okinawa, Japan, while his family was stationed overseas with the Navy but raised in the small town of Oologah — it isn't surprising that Bryan's music has a distinctive Red Dirt vibe.

Since the start of the year, Zach Bryan has been playing on tour, including a stop in Tulsa recently.

What has Zach Bryan been up to lately?

The relentlessly productive singer-songwriter recently released his first live album, "Live from Red Rocks," also known as "All My Homies Hate Ticketmaster," which is available now on all digital platforms via Warner Records.

The album includes his upcoming tour's namesake track, "Burn Burn Burn," as well as live renditions of his gold-certified single “From Austin,” platinum-certified single “Heading South,” and double-platinum ballad “Something in the Orange,” which is currently in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.Bryan’s chart-topping 2022 triple album "American Heartbreak" continues to gain both critical praise and commercial momentum, appearing on numerous year-end best-of lists. It was the top country album of 2022 on Spotify and has spent more than 100 consecutive days on Spotify’sToday’s Top Hits chart. "American Heartbreak" has earned more than 3 billion global streams and has been certified gold in the U.S. and Canada.

Plus, Bryan and his band appeared in December on the seventh episode of Season 5 of the smash television series "Yellowstone," where they performed “Motorcycle Drive-By” and “Summertime Blues,” from his 2022 EP "Summertime Blues." His song “Quittin Time” also made the episode's soundtrack, and his tunes “The Good I’ll Do” and “Tishomingo” have been featured in previous episodes of Taylor Sheridan's popular series.
