Oktoberfest Zinzinnati is changing its home location.

The festival celebrating Southwest Ohio's German heritage is moving to Sawyer Point and Yeatman's Cove in 2024, the Cincinnati Regional Chamber announced Tuesday.

Chamber president Brendon Cull, vice president Chelsea York, Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval and Cincinnati Parks director Jason Barron revealed the news in a joint press conference in front of the Sawyer Point amphitheater.

After previously taking place on Second and Third streets, Oktoberfest moved to Fifth Street in 2023. Organizers said they are moving Oktoberfest from last year's location so they can build new experiences for festivalgoers.

In a press release, the Chamber said it intends to host Oktoberfest at Sawyer Point and Yeatman's Cove "for many years to come," but that doesn't mean it's the festival's permanent location. The riverside spot will also provide more space to sit and relax, giving the event a Bavarian beer garden-inspired style, the group said.

The country's largest Oktoberfest celebration returns Sept. 19-22.

Will there be street closures?

The Chamber does not anticipate street closures for the festival.

What's new at Oktoberfest 2024?

More programming details will be shared as Oktoberfest gets closer, but for now, organizers said they will construct a 300-foot beer tent on the lawn that can hold up to 1,000 people, similar to the tents at Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany.

Is there a Reds game that weekend?

The Cincinnati Reds play at Great American Ball Park every day Sept. 17-22. They play the Atlanta Braves Sept. 17-19 and the Pittsburgh Pirates Sept. 20-22.
