Olivia Cooke Shares “House of the Dragon ”Season 2 Photo Dump, Jokes She'll See Fans in '2 Years' Following Finale
The prequel series' showrunner has said that season 3 will likely premiere in 2026
Olivia Cooke is helping tie fans over as the two-year wait for House of the Dragon season 3 begins.
On Tuesday, August 6, the actress posted a series of photos from filming season 2 of the Game of Thrones prequel series on her Instagram Stories, giving fans a look into all the fun Team Green had while shooting the eight episodes last year following the season 2 finale on Aug. 4.
Cooke's posts featured some solo shots of her, including one that showed her in the outfit she wore in the season 2 finale when she secretly visited Rhaenyera (Emma D'Arcy) at Dragonstone, as well as photos with her other costars.
She began the dump with a shot with Tom Glynn-Carney, who plays her son, King Aegon. In the photo, they stood with their arms around each other as Glynn-Carney, 29, made a funny face to show off the makeup on half of his head that was done to display the damage he'd sustained when his brother Aemond's (Ewan Mitchell) dragon burned him at the battle of Rook's Rest in episode 4.
"Toenail tom x," she wrote over the photo, which Glynn-Carney reposted, writing, "A mother's love."
Cooke's next post was a video of a rainy day filming a scene for the show, as she captured dozens of crew members wearing raincoats as they stood in a grassy field looking out at a lake.
She also shared a photo of Fabien Frankel, who plays Ser Criston Cole, dressed in his armor as a member of the crew seemed to apply something to his face. She tagged the actor, 30, who played her lover in season 2, and added "??."

The actress also shared photos with Phia Saban, who plays her daughter Helaena. In one shot, the two queens were in full gowns and Cooke, 30, wore a veil on her head. She also shared a photo of Saban, 25, in her own clothes standing in front of a medieval-looking archway while talking on the phone, and wrote "???? " over it.
Cooke's final post was a funny selfie of her in her character's classic dress with the caption, "Ta, see you in 2 years xo," a quip about how long it takes for the show to be filmed, edited and then released.
Cooke was not the only star to share some behind-the-scenes photos from filming the HBO hit series' second installment. Glynn-Carney also shared some photos showing off the burn look he sported for the second half of the season, writing in the caption, "Took me ages to work out how to post this. Scroll for when I began trying..."
Frankel posted too, sharing several photos of the cast, including a shot of Matt Smith, who plays Daemon Targaryen, and Cooke smoking cigarettes together as they posed with an evil-looking doll and a funny shot of Rhys Ifans, who plays Otto Hightower, talking on the phone and flipping off the camera as he sat on the Iron Throne.
"Saison deux inanadshell," he captioned the post, which Milly Alcock, the actress who played the younger version of Rhaenyra in the first half of season 1, commented on.
"Staphhh I miss yall ??????," Alcock wrote.
