Olivia Rodrigo Embraces Punk Style in Red Ludovic de Saint Sernin Minidress With Metallic Ring Accents on ‘Jimmy Fallon’
Olivia Rodrigo elevated her punk aesthetic with a designer edge for her appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Tuesday in New York City. The “good 4 u” singer chatted with the eponymous late-night talk show host about her friendship with singer Chappell Roan and more.
For her late-night appearance, Rodrigo opted for a look courtesy of Ludovic de Saint Sernin’s spring 2025 ready-to-wear collection. The dress featured defined cups and a body-con red leather design, embellished with a bevy of metallic rings forming interlinked horizontal stripes. The final strip at the skirt’s bottom hung slightly, added to the punk aesthetic of the look.

Rodrigo paired the dress with translucent heels and opted for minimal accessories, save for a few rings. The singer’s glam featured refined, classic makeup with bold brows, eyes and a pop of coordinating color with a red lip. Her raven-black tresses were styled down with soft, natural waves.
During her chat with Fallon, Rodrigo discussed her longtime friendship with singer Chappell Roan. “I’ve known her for so many years,” said Rodrigo. “We have the same producer and so I’ve known her for a while. If you listen really closely to some of my songs on ‘Sour’ and ‘Guts’ she’s singing in the back.”
Rodrigo’s look for “Fallon” made its debut during Paris Fashion Week last September. The overall collection featured inspiration from the dance world, particularly ballet, a fascination the designer revealed he wanted to explore.
“I didn’t get a chance to explore when with my previous show and I have been a huge fan of ballet and dance forever,” the designer said during a preview, per Tianwei Zhang’s reporting for WWD.
“I wanted to explore the duality of the innocence and the erotic of ballet, and how beautiful that tension is between looking for perfection and achieving high performance, but also at the same time, wanting to live your life and experience life, so that you can show on stage something unique about who you are as a performer,” he added.
