A user named @leosburg took to the platform to reveal that on the official Paris 2024 Olympics site, participants in the games recorded their names so people knew the correct way to pronounce them. While this in and of itself doesn’t sound all that funny, the TikToker took us through some of his favorites, rating them out of 10.

From Team USA’s Amanda Longan giving an elongated performance of her name to Team France’s Leon Marchand’s charming French accent to Canada’s Cloe Lacasse being all giggles during her recording, these videos shared to social media have gone viral. 

In another video focusing solely on Team USA’s pronunciation, some of our favorite athletes had us laughing out loud with their over-pronounced performances and background laughter.

Olympians like Team USA Rugby star Ilona Maher have become known for their content, Maher going viral long before her 2024 Olympic participation. The 27-year-old athlete has become a beloved internet personality over the last few years for her sense of humor, body positivity and overall charm. 

While she’s shared everything on her TikTok this Olympic season from eating a massive croissant to testing out the Olympic beds, for her, social media holds a lot of weight. “We were stuck in quarantine at one of our tournaments, and I just needed something to do to pass the time,” she told TIME of her introduction to TikTok. 

A few days later, someone recognized her from her videos. “The guy was like, ‘Oh, you're the TikTok girl,’” said Maher. “That was when I really understood, ‘Oh, this is a very powerful tool to get myself and my sport out there.’”
