Olympic Gold Medalist Yuto Horigome Has a New Nike SB Collaboration Releasing in 2025
More from Footwear News
Fresh off of defending his gold medal in men’s street skateboarding at the 2024 Paris Olympics, news is emerging that Japanese pro skater Yuto Horigome’s signature Nike DB Dunk Low sneaker will be getting a new look next year.
Expected to launch during spring 2025, Horigome’s new SB Dunk Low includes details similar to those found on his first colorway from August 2023 in an all-new color scheme. Shifting from the “Wolf Gray” palette of Horigome’s debut pair, this new style appears in an “Asparagus” green. With a full colorway of “Asparagus/Legion Green/Light Khaki/Dark Loden/Sesame/Burnt Sienna,” there’s an array of muted earth tones used throughout, but it’s the vegetable green shade that dominates.
The veggie inspiration is accentuated with speckling throughout the green overlays reminiscent of what Nike SB used on the “Asparagus” Dunk Low from 2009. There’s also what appears to be a brown corduroy material at the heel, while khaki suede is used on the mid-panel. Horigome’s signature feather logo appears on the insole, heel and tongue.
Horigome made history on July 29 in Paris, earning his second Olympic gold medal in men’s street skating. His first came in his hometown of Tokyo at the 2020 Summer Olympics, which featured the first-ever men’s street competition. In the Paris final, Horigome bested Americans Jagger Eaton, who represents sustainable sneaker brand Cariuma, and fellow Nike SB endorser Nyjah Huston. For the event, Horigome wore the first colorway of his Nike SB collaboration.
Detailed in-hand images of the Yuto Horigome x Nike SB Dunk Low “Asparagus” can be previewed below. As of publishing, the sneaker collaboration is expected to be released from select Nike SB stockists sometime in spring ’25 for a retail price of $130. This story will be updated with confirmed details as they’re announced.
