Olympic Medalists Have the Best Reaction to Receiving a Call from Snoop Dogg
Snoop Dogg is still making headlines as he continues his coverage of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris—and not only for his lively commentary on the actual games.
The unlikely breakout star of the athletic competition has also been praised for his support of competitors, often wearing clothing to the events featuring a variety of different medalists.
Now, he's calling a few winners, personally giving them kudos for a job well done on their recent display—and the ladies had the best reaction to the surprising gesture.
In a wholesome clip uploaded to Instagram Reels following the Aug. 6 race, women's 200m finals champions USA's Gabby Thomas (gold), Saint Lucia's Julien Alfred (silver), and USA's Brittany Brown (bronze), gathered around a phone, which unknowingly to them, had the "Drop It Like It's Hot" rapper on the other end of it.
"I cry when you cry," the longtime hitmaker noted.
"Thank you, oh my goodness!" Thomas exclaimed in the opening of the clip, as Snoop can be heard saying, "Great job, ladies, great job. Way to go, way to go."
"Thank you," Alfred responded smiling, with Brown cutting in, squealing in disbelief, "Snoop Dogg?!"
As the other two women laughed, the Olympic bronze medal winner tried to make a connection with the iconic music figure, her fellow California native.
"I know you had a team in Pomona, California—I'm from Pomona. I just wanted to let you know I'm from Pomona," she said, to which he replied, “You already know—most definitely. Y’all made me proud today.”
As Brown jumped for joy while speaking with Snoop—who grew up in Long Beach, only about an hour away from her hometown—the other two ladies couldn't help but express gratefulness at the support.
