Omarosa tries to break back into White House for 'Tree of Shame' ceremony on SNL
Baby, it’s cold outside… and no one knows that better than Omarosa.
The final SNL of 2017 opened with a hilarious sketch that saw the former White House political aide (played by Leslie Jones) hovering outside the windows of the White House while Donald Trump (Alec Baldwin) and the First Lady (Cecily Strong) decked their “Tree of Shame” with ex-members of their inner circle.
Kellyanne Conway (Kate McKinnon) was the first guest to place an ornament on the tree: James Comey, whom Trump admitted he fired “because he’s a nutjob, and also because he knew all my secrets.” Sarah Huckabee Sanders (Aidy Bryant) added bulbs for Sean Spicer and Anthony Scaramucci, whose “mangled corpses” she “stepped over to get” her job, while vice president Mike Pence (Beck Bennett) placed an ornament for Mike Flynn on the tree. He also voiced his distaste for the holiday tune “Deck the Halls” because “it mentions gay apparel.”
Then, a knocking on the window (“Could it be Santa or the rapture?” Pence asks) diverts the group’s attention. Alas, it’s actually Omarosa begging to join the festivities (above). She later returns with a boombox blasting the Apprentice theme song (The O’Jays’ “For the Love of Money”) but is removed by Secret Service.
Ivanka Trump (a returning Scarlett Johansson) crashes the party, too, bearing gifts in the form of a Tree of Shame ornament for Roy Moore (she would have made one for Steve Bannon, but his face “wouldn’t fit” so she brought a Madball instead).
Finally, Jeff Sessions (McKinnon, again) appears as an elf on the shelf to place the angel (Robert Mueller) atop the tree. Still, he assures the president he “won’t snitch” on the administration, “because I don’t recall who’s been naughty or who’s been nice,” he says. “I only recall a simpler time when you were judged not by the color of your skin — no, wait, it was by the color of your skin.”
