“One Day”'s Leo Woodall and Ambika Mod Celebrate July 15, the Day Emma and Dexter Met Up Each Year

"Making this show was one of the greatest joys of my life," Mod said in a video on July 15, which is known by 'One Day' fans as St. Swithin's Day

Leo Woodall and Ambika Mod are looking back on this day in One Day.

In a video posted on Netflix’s Instagram Monday, July 15, the stars of the hit show commemorated the day their characters, Dexter and Emma, met up each year with a video message. They reflected on the love the show garnered from viewers (it remained in the top 10 global Netflix shows for seven weeks), and the time they had making it.

“Happy One Day day everyone,” the two said in unison.

“This is just to say thank you,” Mod, 28, said, as Woodall, 27, repeated the same.

“From the bottom of my heart and every other vital organ in my body,” she continued.

The White Lotus actor went on to tell the fans how much their “support” and “love” meant to “everyone who worked so hard” on the making of the 14-episode romantic drama series.

“This story means a lot to me and Dexter means a lot to me,” he said.

Mod shared a similar sentiment, saying, “Making this show was one of the greatest joys of my life.”

She also acknowledged that some viewers had seen the show several times, and knowing it had that much of an impact made “all of it way more worthwhile.”

“I wish there was something I could physically do for you all, like send you a fruit basket. Would you like that?” Mod joked. “Alright see you soon. Bye, my love.”

After realizing her character Emma ended things with Dexter using the same phrase before (spoiler alert!) she died, she clarified: “I shouldn't have ended it that way — that was cruel, I’m sorry!”

Woodall added that he was “very grateful” before the video came to an end.

In the comments section, fans were thrilled by their onscreen reunion. “Crying all over again! Truly one of the best adaptations ????,” one fan wrote under the video.

“I deeply love this show. Every dialogue, glance, angle, kiss, the songs, expression of deep love not yet ready to be lived, every character—love Emma, love Dexter, love it was played by Ambika and Leo. It's real. This show has touched me so deeply!” wrote another.

Mod also took to Instagram to celebrate the day, posting a polaroid from filming, which was labeled “July 15, 2022.”

“I'm so depressed I act like it’s st. swithins day everyday,” she captioned it, making a nod to the lyrics of Taylor Swift’s “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.”

In the show, St. Swithin's Day is what the pair called July 15 on the show, which Woodall’s Dexter explained was the day where “if it rains today, it’s gonna rain all summer.”

Not only was this a metaphor for Emma and Dexter's tumultuous love story, but it became somewhat of a holiday for One Day fans as well.
