‘One Day’ Star Leo Woodall Is a Math Genius in First Look at Thriller ‘Prime Target’ Opposite Quintessa Swindell, Apple TV+ Sets Premiere Date

“One Day” star Leo Woodall swaps TV presenting for complex math problems in his latest series, “Prime Target.”

In first-look images from the upcoming Apple TV+ thriller, Woodall is dressed up as math postgraduate Edward Brooks, complete with tweed jacket and leather-bound notebook, while co-star Quintessa Swindell (“Black Adam”) plays no-nonsense NSA agent Taylah Sanders.

“Prime Target” follows Brooks, who is on the verge of a major computational breakthrough, as he realizes someone is trying to destroy his idea – while Sanders has been ordered to spy on him and report on his behavior. Together, they begin to realize that Brooks is in fact at the heart of a troubling conspiracy.

The show, which consists of eight episodes, is set to debut on Apple TV+ on Jan. 22. “Top Boy” director Brady Hood helms the series.

Woodall and Swindell are joined by Stephen Rea, David Morrissey, Martha Plimpton, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Jason Flemyng, Harry Lloyd, Ali Suliman, Fra Fee and Joseph Mydell in the series.

“Prime Target” was created by “Sherlock” writer Steve Thompson, who also exec produces alongside Hood. New Regency produce the series with Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions.

Ed Rubin executive produces for New Regency alongside Beth Pattinson, Emma Broughton, Yariv Milchan, Arnon Milchan and Michael Schaefer; Marina Brackenbury exec produces for Scott Free Productions along with David W. Zucker and Scott. Laura Hastings-Smith is executive producer.

2025 is set to be another stellar year for Woodall, who appeared in “White Lotus” before capturing hearts across the world as Dexter in the Netflix adaptation of “One Day.” He will also appear in the next installment of “Bridget Jones” opposite Renée Zellweger.
