In One Ear: 'Big, scary house'

OK, film fans, this one’s for you. “‘The Cycle,’ directed by Jordan Downey, is set to be an intense, atmospheric thriller that follows the discovery of a man’s body, missing for over 30 years, at the scene of a brutal crime,” the film’s co-producer Mike Downey wrote. “His estranged daughter embarks on a harrowing journey to uncover the mysteries surrounding his dark past.

“The film ... will be shot entirely in Astoria and the surrounding areas. With the main cast set and the script in place, the producers are now looking for community involvement to help bring the movie to life.” The film, set to shoot this fall, stars Deborah Ann Woll (“True Blood”) and Jeffrey Donovan (“Burn Notice”).

So, want to have fun and help out? They’re looking for a “big scary house,” a key location in the film.

“We’re looking for an iconic horror house — something older, with history and a bit of mystery like the house in ‘Psycho’ or ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre,’” Jordan Downey explained. “It doesn’t have to be in perfect condition; in fact, secluded, with a little wear and tear could be ideal for what we need.” The photos attached give an idea of the effect they’re looking for.
