One last play to take stage at UWO Fond du Lac this spring before campus closes for good
FOND DU LAC — One last play is on the schedule at University of Wisconsin Oshkosh's Fond du Lac campus.
The theater program at the Fond du Lac campus will present the comedy play "The Good Doctor" starting in April at the Prairie Theater, 400 University Ave.
Showtimes are 7 p.m. April 26 and 27, and May 2 through 4, with one matinee show at 2 p.m. April 28, and the show is rated best for audiences age 12 and older.
Written by Neil Simon, "The Good Doctor" follows a young writer in turn-of-the-century Russia as he brings to life eight short stories, all based on the writings of Anton Cheykov.

These include a novice dentist attempting to extract a stubborn molar — without Novocain — a cad seducing his friend's wife without uttering a word to her and an enterprising entertainer selling tickets — to his own drowning.
With the campus closing after the spring semester, this show marks the end of university-produced theater.
Students on cast and crew include Sarah Hurtgen, Kira Downham, Meaghan Lefeber and Hayden Binversie, alongside Fond du Lac High School students Hailey Wessels and Korbin Braun in the cast and Johnathon VanderGrinten and Zaiden Benzel in the crew.
Community members Matt and Julia Ragalie of Oak Creek, David Neese of Sheboygan, Daniel Schneider of Kewauskum and Jacob Badovsky and Leslie Fitzwater of Milwaukee also appear in the cast.
Marian president retiring: Marian University President Michelle Majewski is retiring after 37 years at the school. 'I have relished my time here,' she said.
Wanda Martin leads costume design, with Andy Brault of Fond du Lac on light design, Samuel Fitzwater-Butchart of Milwaukee on sound engineering and Chris Flieller on set design.
Paul Thelen of Fond du Lac leads musical direction for a duet between Neese and Fitzwater's characters in the scene titled "Too Late for Happiness."
Tickets are available at hometowntickets.com and cost $15 for general admission; $10 for seniors, staff and faculty; and $5 for students.
